Apple-Picking Orchard Meet-up

September 24, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Jewish Exploration Group and Lifespan Faith Development at UUCL are hosting a meet-up at Cherry Hill Orchards to go apple picking on Saturday, September 24th at 11:00 A.M. Please save the date. This all ages event is a way to celebrate the fall season and Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. For Rosh Hashanah, it is tradition to ring in a sweet new year with apples and honey. Before apple picking, a picture book will be read about Rosh Hashanah called Apples and Honey by Joan Holub, illustrated by Cary Pillo.

This event is free and open to all, but we welcome donations of $5 to chip in towards the group’s apple box purchase. For planning purposes, please RSVP below by Thursday, September 22nd. (Drop-ins are also welcome, but RSVPs will help us contact you in case of inclement weather. We will also post any inclement weather changes to Facebook.)

Then, on Sunday, Sept. 25th at UUCL, we invite you to come share apples and honey. In worship with Rev. Pat and faith development with Lenore, we’ll reflect on the lessons Rosh Hashanah has to offer as we begin a new year.

Thanks for RSVPing for apple picking and we look forward to seeing you at these events!
