Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! We are pleased that you are considering holding your ceremony at our church.
Our church building was designed by Cassius Emlen Urban in the style of a Norman Gothic English country parish church. In 1908, ground was broken at the present location on West Chestnut Street. The interior of the church features open-beamed trusses, wrought iron chandeliers and English oak pews. Some of the striking features of the church include wood carvings, copies of fine paintings and magnificent cathedral glass windows, all of which express and symbolize Unitarian ideals. Our Sanctuary features an eight rank Moëhler Pipe organ and a Steinway grand piano.
We invite you to join us at one of our services that are held each Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
The information below will guide you on how to schedule your wedding and let you know what to expect.
Arrangements for use of the church space must be made through our Office Coordinator. You may reach her at email@example.com. You can arrange for a tour of our facilities.
In order to confirm your wedding date on our calendar, you must complete the following processes. Please review these policies in full to be sure you are aware of the costs and protocols associated with holding your wedding at Unitarian Universalist Church of Lancaster.
Once you have decided to hold your wedding in our church, please complete all Wedding Forms (member or non-member) and return it to the church office along with your $50.00 non-refundable processing fee. (This fee is separate from other space charges and will be retained even if the event is cancelled). All wedding dates are set on a first come, first served basis, and the return of the Wedding Information Form begins the process of confirming your date.
Upon receipt of your Wedding Information Form, and confirmation of the wedding date, our Office Coordinator will be in touch with you to begin the process of preparing for your wedding at the church. Please indicate your choice of Officiant on your Wedding Information form. The presiding UUCL minister must be given the right of first refusal for all weddings at the church. It is possible to use another officiant and this must be approved by conferring with the presiding minister. If you are choosing to use our UUCL minister you will then need to schedule an appointment to meet with them to confirm your date and discuss your wedding plans. Your choice of wedding date will be confirmed after we receive your completed paperwork, processing fee and you have met with the appropriate parties.
If you have any questions regarding these policies or the fees involved, please don’t hesitate to call our office.
We will be happy to help you in any way we can!
