This year’s UU Common read is Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg’s “On Repentance & Repair: Making Amends in an Unapologetic World.” The premise is that we all have caused harm and been harmed, but in our times and society attitudes and lack of models for repentance can lead to quick apologies without the deep work of repair and restoration. Ruttenberg looks to the model of the medieval Jewish philosopher Maimonides for a path forward.
