The Garvin Loge Dedication
A New Sacred Space at UUCL
The original entry to UUCL’s historic Sanctuary, the Vestibule, has been transformed into an area for small, private gatherings. Funded by a UUCL Walters’ Trust grant, new furniture, carpeting and signage has been installed. It has been named Garvin’s Loge to honor UUCL’s founder M.T. Garvin. The brass plaque features the stained glass panel, The Children’s Window, depicting the inspiration of our church’s origin. Garvin’s Loge can seat up to six people in an attractive, intimate space, separated from the adjoining Women’s Memorial Room and the Sanctuary, yet providing immediate access to the outside. It is open to family groups, small rituals, personal privacy or meetings. Reservations are available here.
On Sunday, Sept. 25 during the 10:00 AM Worship Service, the new Sacred Space, Garvin’s Loge will be recognized as a gift of the Unitarian Universalist Walters’ Trust. All are invited to visit the room after the Service and be greeted by the sponsoring hostesses.
