Unitarian Universalist Church of Lancaster (UUCL) members attended the South Asian Association of Lancaster’s Holi event at Neffsville Park. As U.Us, we pull from all religions because we are a pluralistic community of many beliefs and backgrounds. We enjoyed learning about this Hindu festival through story time. We read “Festival of Colors” by Kabir Sehgal and Surishtha Sehgal. Led by Joanna Loewenstein. The book came to life as we took part in a bonfire and threw colorful powders. These are all elements of Holi. Holi is about good overcoming evil, and the joy of new beginnings. We even enjoyed Indian food from a local restaurant! It was a great day to come together as a Lancaster multi faith community! Hindu Unitarian Universalists or a Hindus with an interest in liberal religious community, you have a home at UUCL!
