Halley Weaver was born on a small island in Northwest Washington during the passing of Halley’s Comet. She had the privilege of attending a public arts-focused school and grew up learning to bind books, marble dye silk, and cut stained glass. Halley has a BA in Cultural Anthropology from University of Massachusetts and a Certificate of Theological Studies from Meadville Lombard. Halley has served as a youth leader for a UU congregation in Utah, as well as a youth leader for an earth-based spiritual program. During her time in Utah, Halley began volunteering for social programs and became determined to use her energy to serve others. Halley spent the next 15+ years working with adults experiencing homelessness, child welfare, intellectual disability support, and food instability programs prior to joining the UU staff. Halley moved to Lancaster in 2016 from Portland, Oregon and lives with her partner and six cats. Halley loves ensuring events run smoothly and can often be found running all over the building checking that everything is perfect. In her free time, Halley enjoys playing harp, dabbling in fine art projects, watching cartoons, and riding her bicycle.
