“Trapped Outside the Gate” Sunday, March 8 10:00AM
Dan Jurman brings a compelling and personally relevant perspective to the experience of poverty. As Executive Director at the PA Governor’s Office for Advocacy & Reform, he is tasked with identifying shortcomings in social services and developing improvements. Locally, he is instrumental in the Lancaster Equity Project renovating the Southern Market Center into a Food Hall and Job Training Center in partnership with Willow Valley Communities. Formerly Executive Director of CAP Community Action Partnerships, Danis also Adjunct Professor at Penn State Hershey (Public Health lecturer) and just finished teaching his last semester at Lancaster Theological Seminary (Church & Social Change). As the first person in his family to graduate from college, he broke through the cycle of poverty. Now his passion is to help others do the same.
