Updates from the Board of Trustees

The Board elected new officers at its recent meeting and approved funds for some building remodeling. Darcy Pollock was elected the new Board President with Fred Foster-Clark as Vice-President and Kim Chappell as Secretary. Thanks were given to Carole Campbell for her service as President and to outgoing Board member George Herr-Riser who served for six years, including a year as President. Chris Steinbrecher was welcomed as our newly elected Board member.

The approved funds from the Capital Expenditures account for upgrading the church office area including minor renovations, new carpeting, and new furniture for the offices (including Reverend Israel’s office) and some new furniture for Emerson Hall. These funds were originally part of the Board discretionary funds emanating from the bequest from Ruth Van Horn. The office reconfiguration will include a large collaborative work and gathering space and separate quiet workspaces for staff. It is designed to be more functional for staff and volunteers as well as being warmer and more welcoming.
