Spirituality Of Making: The House as a Mirror for the Self

January 27 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Up to 15 people will join this unique artistic workshop with long time therapist and creative Karen Carnabucci.

Years ago, Clare Cooper Marcus wrote the book, “House as a Mirror of Self: Exploring the Deeper Meaning of Home,” looking at people’s; emotional ties to their dwellings and echoing
Carl Jung’s perspective that one’s home is a symbolic mirror of one's inner self and of unconscious wishes and emotions. In this three-hour experiential workshop with Karen Carnabucci, LCSW, TEP, we will use poetry, the expressive arts and group sharing to express and explore our ideas of home, refuge, safety and self-expression.

All materials will be provided, although you are welcome to bring special small mementoes, images or other found objects for your art expression or to share with others. The group is
limited to 13 people, because of the number of handmade paper houses Karen has available. (If additional people are interested, we have five small handmade books that will be provided to
substitute for the three-dimensional houses.)

Helping professionals who enroll in this workshop will be able to receive a certificate of attendance and three CE (social worker, LMFT, professional counselor and psychology) credits and psychodrama hours for a nominal fee.
