From the Board: In-Person Gathering
The Board of Trustees met on November 17th, 2021 to re-assess our response to the COVID situation. Unfortunately, the local situation has not changed substantially since we last visited this issue back in September. It is clear that our moratorium on in person church programming inside the building will need to continue at least until early 2022, but we are continuing to investigate when and how to begin programming inside the church building as soon as it is safe and wise to do so.
Plans for multiplatform services (i.e., both streaming/Zoom and in person) are being developed, and procedures for how to be in the building with the least amount of risk are being explored. As part of that process, we will be conducting a survey of all congregants to help us better plan for the varied needs and desires we bring to our spiritual and community life together. This will help us assess how and when we can be together in person in our building. Please be on the lookout for more information and the survey itself in the next couple of weeks.
While it may seem that much has been lost in this pandemic, as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, let us remember how much we have to be grateful for. Part of that is a nurturant spiritual community that centers itself around love and justice and the inherent worth and dignity of each and every person. Thank you for being part of UUCL.
