Lancaster Cooperative Preschool
Did you know our Preschool is the only Cooperative Preschool in Lancaster?
The Lancaster Cooperative Preschool, housed within the Unitarian Universalist Church of Lancaster’s building, is a non-denominational preschool that is build on a cooperative model- where parents help in the classroom and help to run the preschool.
We are happy to welcome the preschool back to our building for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Lancaster Cooperative Preschool has a unique non-denominational preschool program. Our preschool was founded as a non-profit organization in 1969 by parents from the Unitarian Universalist Church of Lancaster who shared the core belief that parents are a child’s first and most important teachers. Parents help in the classroom by “co-oping” on a regular basis and by helping to run the preschool. Our children grow in mind, body and spirit as they are nurtured and encouraged by our teachers and other parents. Our preschool has been the only program in the area to be cooperatively run and creates a close-knit community of families through events and parent participation.”
