Meet The Board – Fred Foster-Clark
As the incoming President of the Board, I have asked Board members to rotate the responsibility to share something as part of each LoveLetter. One by one over the coming weeks, we will introduce ourselves briefly so that you get to know your Board better. After these introductory contributions, later LoveLetters will contain Board members addressing more substantive issues of relevance to our congregation and/or our lives as UUs.
For my introduction, let me say that I have been a member of UUCL since 1989 when we first moved to the Lancaster area so that I could take a job teaching in the Psychology Department at Millersville University. This is our third UU church, having been members in both Ithaca and Albany, NY. Cindy and I have two children and three grandsons, all living in Maryland. I am now retired and enjoying more time for the church, the family, the garden, and other hobbies and projects.
This is my sixth and final year on the Board having served last year as VP and previously for three years as Secretary. I am also the liaison to the Walters Trust Program Committee. Over the years I was active in what used to be called the Social Action Committee, taught Sunday morning RE, and, for many years, taught About Your Sexuality and then Our Whole Lives, along with Cindy, to junior high school age young people. I also served on Search Committees to select our Developmental Minister in 2016 and our Contract Minister this summer.
