Two keys to building relationships: vulnerability and courage. The same is true in the Search process. Ministers need to be honest and share their strengths and weaknesses. Congregations need to show their wounds and their flash that they’re proud of. There’s a role for instincts, for communicating as a group, and trusting in the wisdom of the collective, and the more open and honest a committee and congregation can be, the better the chance of a good match. We’ll talk Brene Brown, the story about my search process, and what you learn working in the psych ward.
