Special Congregational Meeting Agenda, Instructions,
and (Very) Special Celebration
This Sunday, September 20, 2020, we have a special congregational meeting after Sunday worship to vote in Rev Israel as our called minister. Below is the agenda for the meeting, and special instructions to assist in the voting process.

We have had such a great candidating week that our polls show a very positive vote. So overwhelming that we are pre-planning a Welcome Parade in front of the church at Noon to welcome Rev Israel and his family either socially distanced on the sidewalk or from your car. Cake, as per UUCL tradition (cupcakes) will be served.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING AGENDA

1. Chalice Lighting

2. Check-in to ensure that everyone can hear, and instructions (below) for congregants to clearly identify themselves on Zoom.

3. Motion to set aside UUCL bylaw Article 5.3 which states “Members are eligible to vote at congregational meetings of UUCL when they have been members for at least 60 days prior to the meeting” for the duration of this congregational meeting due to COVID pandemic delays.

4. Message from the President of the Board in acknowledgement of our brilliant Ministerial Search Committee.

5. Motion to call Rev Israel Buffardi as our called minister to UUCL.

6. Counting and announcement of the results of the vote.

7. Adjournment of the meeting, and beginning of the Special Celebration (with cake!).

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO ASSIST IN THE VOTING PROCESS
It is important that we are able to clearly see your entire name in the Zoom meeting so that your presence and voting record at the congregational meeting is accurate.
Special Instructions to assist in the voting process:
1. From the Zoom Room click on the “Participants” icon at the bottom of the window.
2. A Participants window will appear. Click the “Rename” button.
3. Enter your new name in the “New Screen Name” field and be sure to have the “Remember my name for future meetings” checked (if appropriate).
4. After clicking the blue “OK” button, your new name will appear.

Welcome Parade starts at Noon. Head into church (and bring your own sign if you want) to greet our minister and his family by car or by sidewalk!
